Recently, I was asked to make a gift for a baby at relatively short notice. It was for a colleague of my Dad’s and needed to be something quick, but good enough to give to a very excited couple on the arrival of their first child. I had a quick look online and found the perfect project – a rabbit made from a garter stitch square. Continue reading “Garter Stitch Rabbits and Craft Karma”
I recently returned from an amazing week away in Hayle, Cornwall. I packed plenty of knitting to keep me going and the weather forecast led me to believe I would have plenty of opportunity to get a lot of it done (indoors with a hot drink). However, the weather was glorious and I hardly spent any time inside at all. I did however attempt some knitting on the beach; word to the wise – don’t do it. Turns out grains of sand, a salty sea breeze and merino wool don’t get along very well, who knew? I expect I will try it again though, perhaps a little more prepared, but in all likelihood, probably not.

Now, let us all take a deep breath and forge into the future; knitting at the ready
So far you have learned to cast on (CO), and knit (K).
If you completed your homework last week, then you will have knit yourself a little swatch of garter stitch.
Hello there, and welcome to a quick post with (hopefully) a bit of inspiration for you. This week, I thought I would share one of my (many) Pinterest boards. If you haven’t used Pinterest before, I would strongly recommend it. It took me ages to really understand the point of it, but now I love it.
It’s Wednesday again already!
I have had another busy week with my brother’s 30th birthday, a wedding reception, a friend’s birthday and all sorts of other bits and bobs. Fun but exhausting! My brother’s birthday meal was in London and I was gutted I forgot to take my knitting for the train, although it was probably a bit too loud and boisterous to get much done anyway.
