WIP Wednesday

So it is Thursday morning rather than Wednesday but I didn’t have a chance to post last night!

I am currently working on a cowl/scarf which I have designed myself. It is a garter stripe cowl with mustard waffle stitch at one end and will have a button fastening.

I had to undo the mustard section yesterday because of tension issues (always swatch Rachel!!) But have started it again with bigger needles and it is looking much better now.  Someone has already requested to buy this one but I am hoping to write the pattern up once I have finished, and knit up some others.

In other news, I have signed up for a charity blanket knitting event which is on 7th October in Chalkwell (near Southend on Sea), where we will all be knitting, crocheting and sewing blankets for the fantastic homeless charity Crisis and also collecting donations for the local homeless charity Harp. If you would like to get involved, click here.

Harp are an amazing charity in Southend, providing all sorts of resources for homeless people. If you would like to find out more about them, click here.

That’s it for this week!

Garter Stitch Rabbits and Craft Karma

Cornwall

I recently returned from an amazing week away in Hayle, Cornwall.  I packed plenty of knitting to keep me going and the weather forecast led me to believe I would have plenty of opportunity to get a lot of it done (indoors with a hot drink). However, the weather was glorious and I hardly spent any time inside at all.  I did however attempt some knitting on the beach; word to the wise – don’t do it. Turns out grains of sand, a salty sea breeze and merino wool don’t get along very well, who knew? I expect I will try it again though, perhaps a little more prepared, but in all likelihood, probably not.

WIP Wednesday

Hi and welcome to this weeks update!

I hope it’s been more productive than mine; sometimes you have the best intentions but nothing quite works out how you had planned it. It has been one of those weeks for me. So, along with a lovely photograph from my cousin’s wedding, here is one of my favourite quotes;

Now, let us all take a deep breath and forge into the future; knitting at the ready
